Tulsa Audubon Society
The Tulsa Audubon Society is the local chapter of the National Audubon Society, and they run a surprisingly active calendar of birding walks, nature education programs, and conservation advocacy in the Tulsa metro. Oklahoma sits on the Central Flyway — a major bird migration corridor — making Tulsa-area birding genuinely world-class, even if most residents don't know it yet.
From monthly bird walks at Oxley Nature Center to Christmas Bird Counts and habitat restoration projects, TAS makes it easy to get started with birding and conservation — no experience required, binoculars sometimes provided.
How to Get Involved
Join a monthly bird walk (free, all levels), become a member, volunteer for habitat projects, or attend a meeting. Check their calendar for upcoming field trips — they're the best way to see Oklahoma's natural side.
